A new stereo star is born! The Marantz PM7005 integrated stereo amplifier has arrived made using best-in-class materials and the very latest in component design. Besides creating spectacular, boundary-pushing sound with minutely precise detail as you'd expect from such a high-grade Marantz amplifier, the PM7005 also includes on-board DAC functionality enabling quick and easy connection to a variety of digital devices.
As one will assume with a build-quality of an amplifier at this level, the Marantz PM7005 never disappoints. Premium level audio components combine together within a rock-solid metal chassis, nearly twice as heavy as the PM5005. Current Feedback HDAM's and a high-speed instantaneous current power supply will drive the most performance-thirsty of loudspeakers with a good 2 x 80w allocated for each channel. More than good enough for demanding floorstanders which require a fair amount of driving. The very same premium high-grade speaker terminals as on the PM8005 system are present on the PM7005 which will be pleasing for any audio geeks too.
But connectivity is king and the Marantz 7005 includes enough digital and analogue inputs to connect up any audio device we can think of. There are three ways of connecting digital sources to the PM7005; USB (via the in-built CS4398 Cirrus Logic DAC), digital optical and a digital coaxial as well. When connecting the PM7005 to your computer, the amplifier then acts as the soundcard working in asynchronous mode and 'bit perfect' to support the highest of audio resolutions. Even older, more sensitive analogue signals are cared for with an 'Analogue Amp' mode, which switches off the digital section entirely so you get the very best results with your older components. Ideal for the vinyl enthusiasts amongst us!
The Marantz PM7005 comes in two finishes; classic black or silver.

Marantz PM7005 Technologies
Marantz developed its own discrete circuit boards to replace standard IC's. These HDAM's consists of discrete surface mount components with short mirror image L/R signal paths. Those devices are doing exactly the same thing as the Op-Amps, but outperform the regular IC Op-amps dramatically in terms of the Slew Rate and reduced noise level, resulting in a much more dynamic, accurate and detailed sound. Over the years Marantz developed different types of the HDAM to improve quality and to fit to the special requirements of a product category like CD or amplifier
Current Feedback amplification is a well known Marantz original circuit technology. The Current Feedback amplifier technology fits perfectly with the high requirements set for Super Audio software providing wide-bandwidth, high-speed reproduction. The impedance at the Current Feedback point is limited resulting in a very low phase shift. Marantz receivers and amplifiers equipped with Current Feedback can keep the phase compensation via Negative FeedBack (NFB) to a minimum, resulting in high through-rate, excellent transient response and superb sonic transparency for the full bandwidth. Unlike conventional Voltage Feedback amplification, the Current Feedback amplification makes the power amplifier in-sensitive to difficult loudspeaker loads.
Marantz products all carry the environmental logo. This logo proves the environmental way of thinking within Marantz. This does not stop with the low power consumption of all Marantz products in stand-by modus, but it also underlines the environmental way of working and producing within Marantz and the use of environmental approved components that do not contain hazardous chemical elements. As much as possible will be done to stress the environment as less as possibly can.
Pure / Source Direct / Audio EX(clusive)
Special listening modes that provide the highest possible signal purity. They can be used for both analogue and digital sources, with two-channel or multi-channel inputs. When selected, the signal follows the most direct path not passing the tone and bass management circuitry or any DSP (digital signal processor) of AV Receiver or on players pitch control, digital output or the display will be switched off. The less processing and functionalities the closer the signal is to the original, the less it is distorted.
A Shottky diode is a special type of diode with a very low forward-voltage drop compared to normal diodes. This lower voltage drop translates into higher system efficiency. Shottky diodes have very fast signal handling, can easily stay higher temperatures and are sensitive very low voltages.
