From the mid-1990s, just a few years after the founding of Pro-Ject Audio Systems and precisely at the height of the popularity of the CD format, we noticed a growing number of audiophiles nostalgically maintaining the tradition of analog listening. In 1998, Heinz Lichtenegger and his UK distributor and long-time friend Laurence Armstrong sat together and dreamed of a rebirth of the turntable that would make analog sound accessible to a wider audience. They wanted to offer new models that could offer sound with maximum quality approaching the parameters of high-end devices, but at a price that the new younger generation will be able to afford. This is how the DEBUT record player was born.

Today, more than 20 years after its launch, the Debut, with nearly a million units sold, is truly one of the best-selling products in Hi-Fi history. Now in 2020 the time has come again for a new evolution of the legendary model.

PLATE WITH INTERNAL TPE DAMPING

Our new TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomer) damping technology helps to dampen resonances very effectively, and also increases the weight of the cymbal to 1.7 kg. Because the TPE damping is installed on the inside of the edge of the plate, the kinetic energy creates a flywheel effect. The result is a much quieter and more stable operation with significantly lower values ​​of speed fluctuations.

PERFECTLY BALANCED FOR ALL CIRCUMSTANCES

The Debut Carbon EVO uses 3 height-adjustable heavy metal bases that ensure even placement of the turntable on any surface. By using only 3 bases, we increase the stability on uneven surfaces, because for a truly top-quality sound it is necessary to have the turntable perfectly level.

IMPROVED ENGINE SUSPENSION SYSTEM

The Debut Carbon EVO features a newly designed engine suspension. The turntable motor always vibrates during operation, which is a natural feature. Because the pickup and tip are very sensitive parts that transmit vibrations to the speakers, unwanted motor vibrations can manifest as audible mechanical noise. Therefore, it is very important to consistently separate the engine from the chassis. Advanced sandwich technology of several layers of TPE damping combined with high weight is our new solution for effective engine suspension in the Debut Carbon EVO model .

SPEED CONTROL

Based on customer feedback, we have integrated electronic speed control in the Debut Carbon EVO because 9" and high-quality 45 rpm records are becoming more and more popular and common due to their excellent sound quality. In addition to being able to easily change the playback speed at the push of a button, the speed of the turntable is electronically controlled with maximum precision, resulting in the most accurate and stable playback. Thanks to the included 78 RPM round belt, you can listen to your shellac record collection at any time. Just replace the pickup tip with an Ortofon 2M 78 (not included), install the round strap and you are ready to enjoy an extraordinary musical experience. The speed control switch has been moved to the bottom of the chassis to maintain the clean look that is appreciated on the Debut. You will not find any button, switch or print on the visible parts of the chassis so as not to disturb the luxurious design and aesthetics .

SHOULDER

The Debut Carbon EVO is fitted with a proven 8.6'' one-piece carbon fiber arm. In combination with the premium Ortofon 2M-Red pickup, this light and at the same time very stiff arm delivers unprecedented sound quality with a convincing three-dimensional scene.

CONNECTION

The Debut Carbon EVO turntable is equipped with a high-quality Connect it E phono cable. This is a low-capacity cable with excellent shielding and semi-symmetrical geometry. Compared to other digital and analog music sources, the signal coming from the portable turntable is very sensitive. Cheap RCA cables are often not able to provide the ideal requirements for a clean signal transfer from the turntable to the amplifier.

PACKAGING

The Debut Carbon EVO comes with an adjustable acrylic dust cover. The delivery also includes an adapter for 7'' singles, a Connect it E RCA turntable cable and, in addition to the standard drive belt, a round belt for playing records at 78 rpm .
